Your Information

What information will you collect for my assessment?

  • I record your DETAILS - name, address, course, etc.

Why? To make your report a document you can keep and use as legal evidence.

  • I ask about your HISTORY - schooling, health, family, development, exams, work, study problems...

Why? To identify patterns of study difficulties, rule out any other causes such as lack of opportunity or gaps in education, and supply context for my findings. The aim is to make anyone reading the report understand how any learning differences such as dyslexia may affect your study or your work.

  • I collect TEST PAPERS and SAMPLES - test results and examples of writing, spelling etc.

Why? To assemble a profile of strengths, weaknesses and contradictions as a way of talking about your learning style, and as a basis for deciding whether or not you have a learning difference such as dyslexia.

Who gets to see my information?

  • I do not share your information or data with anyone else, unless you ask me to.

  • Your report belongs to you, even if is paid for or part-funded by someone else.

When your report is ready I will email it to you securely, so that you can check your details. At this stage I can add or remove any background information you feel is essential or not appropriate.

I will send the final draft of your report as a pdf, plus a printed, signed copy to your postal address if you would like one.
